Do other mac apps recognize the plextor (like toast) or just waveburner cheers. It was insanely intuitive to use and their support was fast and positive. FWIW Apple has released another WaveBurner update v1.1.2.

I have been mastering for years and always wanted something in between Wavelab Pro and something like WaveBurner (apple). You can buy Logic Pro or Mainstage itself as a download through the Mac App store, however, it no longer comes with the other software and as a physical CDROM.
